Everything that I have been learning so far has been such an amazing experience. During this journey, I have seen that what I do in my classroom is the path I want to follow. I have been reading several text sources, watching different videos and it is so energizing to identify myself with everything!

I believe that students need to connect the dots to make sense of what they are learning, Today’s way of education is becoming obsolete. What we need today and tomorrow is different of yesterday. That is why we need to adapt as well. We teachers need to do what is needed for our students. The sentence: “Our children are our future” is totally true! If we don’t start preparing our students for that nearby future, they won’t be able to succeed.

Therefore, the importance to create learning environments where students can see the relation between what they are learning and real life becomes incredible important. Our students of today are fed up of learning for the test. They see school as a place where they have to learn “stuff” that they do not know what is it for.

When we build a learning environment where the student is respected, challenged and exposed to new experiences, the learning will start to happen by itself. These students will see the relationship between school and real life. They can understand why is important to learn a specific content or why it can help them to solve a situation.

We teachers, we need to become more facilitators, more guides, more a person that can help the students through their learning, through their own personal growth.

I am so enthusiastic about all this project and I feel confident that using technology will help me to achieve the goals and ideas I am pursuing in my Innovation Plan. I am excited and feel passionate to see that what I am currently doing is going in the right path. In the path for creating critical thinkers and students that can be successful in all aspects of their life.
